  • A: According to Human Resources guidelines, student assistants may not work more than 20 hours per week.

  • A: Your student may work as many hours a semester as needed as long as they do not exceed the hours approved for your project.

  • A: $8.00 per hour
  • A: Yes, if the other job is a student assistant position at the same rate of pay. The SALT student may not be a student assistant and a temporary staff employee at the same time.
  • A: Yes, as long as you do not exceed the total number of hours allotted for your project.
  • A: No.
  • A: You must write a letter explaining why you want to go outside the SALT pool and what special qualifications the student has. The letter must be sent to the Vice President for Student Affairs for final approval.
  • A: The SALT program is funded from October 1 to June 30.
  • A: Only to June 30th, the end of the fiscal year.
  • A: This is an exception. You must write a letter explaining why you want to begin a project in the summer and there must be funding available.
  • A: Normally one SALT project is funded per faculty person; there may be exceptions if funds are available.
